Chairperson Rettig called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the
Johnson County Administration Building at 9:58 a.m. Members present were: John
Etheredge, Pat Harney, Terrence Neuzil, Janelle Rettig, and Rod Sullivan.
COUNTY ENGINEER GREG PARKER: RIGHT-OF-WAY CONTRACT WITH
JANICE M. MAIER FOR A BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, GRADING AND PCC
PAVING PROJECT ON SHARON CENTER ROAD OVER OLD MAN’S CREEK
IN SECTION 36, TOWNSHIP 79 NORTH, RANGE 7 WEST KNOWN AS
JOHNSON COUNTY PROJECT BROS-C052(82)--5F-52; CONTRACT
INCLUDES 1.80 ACRES OF PERMANENT ROW EASEMENT AT $8,630.00 PER
ACRE EQUALING $15,534.00, $117.00 FOR TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION
EASEMENTS, AND $9,264.00 FOR COST TO CURE LOST LANE
CONNECTION, FOR A TOTAL OF $25,000.00 (ROUNDED)
Assistant County Engineer Rob Winstead said the actual project cost will come out to
$25,000, but the currently listed numbers add up to a slightly smaller number. The
Sharon Center Road Bridge replacement project is nearly ready for the Iowa Department
of Transportation (IDOT) to let it. He referenced a PowerPoint with pictures of the area
and discussed the proposed Right-of-Way contract, the meetings with the current Right-
of-Way owner Janice M. Maier, the temporary construction easements, and the appraisal.
