Reference list: Harvard style
How to use this template:
1. Make one copy of each of the options below for each item you have e.g. if you have 4 books in your list, make 4 copies of the "Book"
template.
2. Replace the relevant words in each template while keeping the punctuation intact (except for the square [] brackets). Eliminate any words that
don't apply to the information source you are describing (e.g. additional authors, edition number etc)
3. Italicise or underline the necessary sections (title of book, title of journal etc). Check the Virtual Librarian again if you are unsure.
Book:
Author's surname, author's initials. (year of publication), Title of the Book, edition [if not first], place of publication: publisher's name
Chapter:
Author's surname, author's initials. (year of publication), Title of chapter, in: Editor's surname, editor's initial. (ed) Title of the Book, edition [if
not first], place of publication: publisher's name
Journal article:
Author's surname, author's initials. (year of publication), Title of article, Title of the Journal, volume number (issue number), page numbers of
article e.g. 2 (1), 147-149
Conference paper:
Author's surname, Author's initials. (Year of Publication), Title of paper, In: Editor's surname Editor's initial, (ed) Title of the Conference, Date
of Conference, Publisher's name, Place of publication, Page numbers.
Webpage (with author):
Author/editor's surname, author/editor's initials. (eds) [if appropriate] (last update or copyright date), Title of page, (Title of site), Available:
URL (Accessed: Access date)
Webpage (without author):
Title of page, (Title of site), (last update or copyright date), Available: URL (Accessed: Access date)
