How to Rent a Room in Your Home
1. Become a resident landlord.
If you let out part of property, you can see yourself as a resident landlord. A resident landlord has the similar rights and responsibilities as a landlord.
2. Details of renting the room.
Rent- You must agree with your tenant about how much money he should pay you.
Deposits- A deposits can protect you when your tenant delay or refuse to pay the rent.
Utility Bills- You can ask your tenant for part of utility bills if you pay the utility bills for the entire house.
3. Evict your lodger.
The way you share your home with a lodger affects what kind of tenancy they have. This turn affects their rights and how you can end the tenancy. If you share some living spaces with your lodger, you can just give them a reasonable notice to end the letting. On the other hand, if you don't share any living spaces with your lodger, you can get a court order to evict them.
